Introduction

It is a respiratory disease in which patient feel difficulty in breathing. Asthma is inflammation in the walls of bronchi and bronchioles. During attack of Asthma the walls of bronchi and brochioles swell and their inner passage is reduced it result in the shortness of breath.

Diagnostic Criteria For Asthma

* Cough.

* Dyspnea.

* Wheezing.

* Hightened Airway reactivity.Exacerbation upon exposer to stimuli.

* Chest pain.

* Environmental Allergen like Dust, Pollen, Dander.

* Cold Air.

* Smoking.

* Sinusitis, Rhinitis.

* Upper Respiratory Tract Infections.

* Pulmonary Function Test.

* Peak Flow Meter.

* Arterial Blood Gases.

* Sputum Analysis.

* Spirometry.

* Chest X-RAY.

* General Blood Analysis.

Treatment

* Short Acting Bronchodilators (Ipatropium).

* Inhaled Steriods.

* Leukotrienes Modifiers.

* Long Acting Beta Agonists.

* Theophylline.
