Pneumonia is the inflammatory process of the lung parenchyma caused by infectious agents such as viruses fungi bacteria 

CLASSIFICATION OF PNEUMONIA:

1:According to causes 

   * Bacterial pneumonia
    *Viral pneumonia
     *Fungal pneumonia
      *Chemical pneumonia 
       *Inhalational pneumonia

2.According to area involved:

      *Lobar pneumonia
      *Broncho pneumonia

PREDISPOSING FACTORS OF PNEUMONIA:

     *Advance age
     *Chronic lung disease
    *Alchoholism
    *Immunocompromised 
    *Difficult swallowing due to stroke dementia etc.

CLINICAL  MANIFESTATIONS OF PNEUMONIA:

   *Shaking chills
   *Rigors
   *Toxic look 
   *Stabbing chest pain
   *Coughing
    *Tachypnea 
    *Herpes labialis
    *Shortness of breath
    *Sputum 

DIAGNOSTIC TESTS:

  
*History taking
*Physical examination 
*Chest x rays 
*Blood tests
*sputum culture

MEDICAL MANAGEMENT OF PNEUMONIA:

*Oxygen therapy
*Chest physiotherapy
*Antibiotics depending on sputum culture and blood culture such as Piperacillin Ciprofloxacin Levofloxacin Tobramycin Amikacin Tazobactam
